Your-shared-identity is a very powerful and dynamic resource at your disposal. For example, you most probably know that "birds of a feather fly together…" Well, you are correct. Do you also know how these birds come together? How they find one another? Which bird initiates the process? How do other birds find out this bird is the correct one to go to? When does this happen? For how long does each bird search for others and how does a bird (any bird) go about looking? I believe that all of these questions I have asked you, you can answer by focusing on your-personal-identity first. There are many ways to focus on yourself. One way is by you quieting your whole being through achieving oneness with your-purpose (note: will open in a new window).
When you have achieved oneness between you and your purpose you "fish" out your personal identity from your purpose and begin to move from shared identity to find others with personal identities that require you to perform with your shared identity. You develop your walk inside your purposeful shared group identifying goals and self-controlled individual creativity all girdled by your good motives.
One way to really find and perceive shared identity is when you are rested. You will get answers to the above questions only if you are rested in such a way as to be able to hear the signal, within yourself, instincts about 1) what to do? 2) who to see? 3) where to go? 4) why you should what you should do or see or go? 5) when to go? and 6) how to go? Something amazing will happen to you when you genuinely self-rest (note: will open in a new window) - you begin to see your shared identity.
The easiest way to explain what rest is, is to use the hospital example. All competent doctors will emphasize to you the importance of physical rest for you to recover from the sickness that caused you to visit them. There you are! Your challenge, though, is how can you rest your soul? By mimicking that which is done in the physical realm, in your soul realm. Just as rest will "calm" your physical body, so also does meditation calm your mind, which is in your soul realm. The answer is self-meditation. If your body needs physical rest then your soul needs soulical rest that you might achieve through meditation. This way you can retrieve your best instincts or states of mind that will lead you to the right shared-identity, where other like-minded futures comrades are located - "birds of a feather.."
If you are committed, and not a compromiser, to all and all are committed to you, then you will together surmount the troublesome stages of forming, norming and storming that any team or group must necessarily go through. After this you can consider the first three stages as history. But you will need more than just your-shared-identity to fit in. Your shared identity calls to bear on all your sharable qualities and begins to perform and produce the desired achievements. For your easier view a good number of the qualities you need to fit in have been nicely moulded into a soccer ball, which you might easily identify with. From here you are now ready to pursue your mission as part of a group or team within your collective shared identity. You can be certain that you will achieve your-goals.
There are many examples in history which show proof of shared-identify. Shared-identities are many in history and manifest in a wide array of life's endeavours. Such identities have been very productive combinations that a common saying applied to these shared-identities is "a match made from heaven". Your task, however, is to keep your-personal-identity because that is what the shared-identity needs from you. That is you should stick to your personal identity as your constancy guarantees your unique performance inside the common activities that bind you in your-shared-identity.
Play the position or role and responsibility that the team needs you for means that you are using the strengths of your personal-identity within the context of your shared identity. This also demonstrates to you that the shared-identity you are locking your personal identity into is a harmonious one. This is the synergy that is indicative of the correctness of the "birds" you are attempting to "fly" with.
